Iwahig Firefly Watching Mangrove Eco-Tourism & Wildlife Park: An Amazing Experience

Straight from Iwahig Penal Farm, we went straight to Iwahig Firefly Watching Mangrove Eco-Tourism & Wildlife Park.

We arrived there too early.  The first batch doesn't start until 7 pm and we were there at around 5:30 pm.  Although we wanted to eat, there was no restaurant nearby so we just waited.  Thus, it is recommended that you hire a tricycle or van to bring you to this place and back to the city.  A tricycle rental costs 600 php.

As soon as it was dark, the tour started.  We were the second banca to go.  There's only the two of us and two guides.  They give a background about the mangrove and fireflies.

We were amazed at how beautiful the glowing fireflies were.  They were spread throughout the mangroves.  The guides have a red flashlight to which the fireflies react on.

We had so many attempts to capture them while the boat was moving but we couldn't.  This is the best photo we got.

We Travel Tripsters highly recommend that you to try this amazing experience!
